There's something rather romantic about prairie grass in front of a beautiful sunset. Here, my characters Raul and Celine are enjoying just that. Celine has fallen asleep, and Raul regards her sweetly. Their story is quite tragic, so it was fun getting to focus on a simpler, more light-hearted time in their lives for this piece.
In February of 2026, this illustration received a Gold ADDY Award (Oklahoma)! It was a huge honor, and at the time of writing this I am still incredibly excited. It makes me look forward even more to continuing to bring my characters and stories to life through illustration.
